Driftfaction and Drift Hutle Hosted the first Drift event of the year at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Best part was the awesome weather. 80* and sunny even though the forcast called for rain. The Turn out was awesome.

The track layout here is pretty good but I think all the drivers would agree the surface condition sucks balls.

Coloring on this ZT doods car was amazing in real life.

D-faction cars were repping solid

Lots of break downs, but also lots of hands to get the drivers back out on the track.

As the sun set the tires and cars built up. The Drifthustle pit was always packed with cars coming and going

Went and saw this Sunday night against all the super negative movie reviews it was recieving. I’m kind of a nerd for the whole like Greek/Roman mythos thing with all the different gods and the Titans and such. So my review of view of the movie might be a little more positively bias than some random street-walker that just wanted to see a 3D movie. I imagine a lot of the negative reviews were from people too young to have seen the original movie.

This new version CotT was pretty damn good. If you remember the original movie it stuck pretty closely to that story and just picked up the pace and made all the characters more awesome. This movie was 2 hours and at no single point did it ever once drag or slow down. It was non stop immersive and interesting. The graphics were pretty seemless and believable. I think the most impressive character being Medusa. In greek mythology she is a beautiful woman who was raped by Poseidon on the floor of Athenas temp after having turned down his advances. Athena was outraged that a mortal was as beautiful if not more so than she was so she cursed her and turned her into the medusa. In the original and most artwork the Medusa is ugly and haggy and 100 % snake from the waste down. In this movie it was more of a complete snake. Think of a gorgeous woman with scales along her ribs and back and then a snakes tail from upper thighs down. It was done really well.

The only thing that was disappointing was how short The Kraken scene was. I mean they designed such an amazing monster, one that I think blows away any large movie monster to date and put Cloverfield to shame but it dies so fast. I was expecting that though since in the original movie the kraken dies fairly easily and fast.

All in all I think that this was a fun dudes movie. My girlfriend even liked it although if you don’t really know much about Greek mythology you might not exactly know whats going on or why they are doing some of the things they are doing. I think this movie is getting lots of negative bank from morons going to see it who have no idea what its about and know nothing about greek mythology. I say go see it. You won’t be blow away by the 3d but you like the character design, see lots of cool fight scenes and some awesome monster and just be plain entertained for 2 hours with a few cheesy parts in between.

The DriftHustle team held a private drift session the day after halloween. For us living uphere in the chilly northeast it was probably the last drifting to be had for the entire season. Fun was had. There were plenty of sniffly noses and I got food poisoning from a Mcdonalds in the middle of nowhere. One driver smashed his oil pan off in the middle of the day. People pitched in removed the pan made a run to walmart and he was back up drifting. The footage is a little shaky as i didn’t use a tripod. I know i know what was I thinking. Hope you enjoy it.

Went to see this movie this weekend, really wasn’t that stoked to see it but I felt i had to after all the hype its been recieving and reading a few mixed reviews. Lots of people saying its the scariest movie ever and all this stuff. Then more level headed people saying its not scary at all and all the other people are morons.

To start off let me clear something up for you, THIS IS NOT BASED ON A TRUE STORY. This is a film mokumentary that was made for a 2007 film fesitval. I also believe this film was designed for couples. After watching the couple in the movie interact it is a very date-ish movie. The entire time watching the film I remember thinking this is the perfect movie for a young budding relationship. Bring a new gullible girlfriend, get her scared and get her a little closer break the cuddle barrier for the first time.

The movie to me wasn’t scary as much as it was designed perfectly to build up moments and play on things we have all expirienced. What got people into the move was the “demon” and how it did things we can all relate to. A lot of us have homes that are dark and creeky at night. Drafts make odd noises, shadows playing trick on our eyes, the wind might make a shutter bang against the house in the middle of the night and wake you up and for a moment you have that freaked out dazed sleepy “what the hell was that” feeling. This movie was mostly that but to the extreme. Add to that a good producer /director who are masters at building suspense and you have a movie that could freak some people out.

It wasn’t a bad movie at all. Like I said guys take a girl and go to the late showing, she won’t want to go home alone. On a side night I thought the female in the movie was rather frumpy and chubby, so don’t expect to leave this movie sexually aroused in anyway. If anything it’ll make you appreciate that the girl you brought with you isn’t a cow.

A great revisioning of one of the most beloved kids books of my time.

I had to see this movie as it was one of my favorite books as a child and I liked how it was something that the children of today could relate but it was more of a book from my childhood. Something that we as adults could appreciate. The book was definetley a favorite of mine and the movie for once did not disappoint me.

I felt it was very true to the book while expanding and enhancing certain areas. The animation was of course top notch as we have grown to expect from movies now a days. The wild things blended seemlessly with the natural backgrounds and the not so natural backgrounds like the fortress.

The movie was one to pull on the heart strings from time to time. Very emotional charged, you could connect with all the characters and what was going on. I can say i haven’t felt as deeply emersed in a movie as I was this one in a long time. Such strong character development made you really get the feel that they were all children, Max as well as the Wild things.

I would definitely say if you remember the book as a kid go see this movie. You will not in anyway be disappointed. I have no complaints at all. Even the odd soundtrack blended seemlessly and brought you into the movie even more. An extrordinary un-ordinary movie. Definitely a movie that our generation needs to see.

There was a big national muscle car show up here this weekend. The entire resort village of Lake George Ny was basically taken over. I parked literally 2 miles away in a closed bank parking lot in a handicapped spot. It was the closest spot i could find. Lots of nice cars. When I came back to my car there was a pretty cool SS camaro parked next to me. The resemblance was kinda funny.

I didnt take many pictures of the show but this car really caught my eye cause it was just so awesome.

I went to see the movie 9 last night because I got out of work way to late to go and cover the drift event …

9

I went to see the movie 9 last night because I got out of work way to late to go and cover the drift event I was supposed to cover. I went with the grilfriend and another couple. We all had said we wanted to see the movie based on the trailers we saw for it. It seemed to be so bad ass and had a pg-13 label so it couldn’t have been all bad right? It was produced by Tim burton as well and I don’t think there is a person out there who doesnt love The Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse Bride.

All in all it was a good movie but I just left with this unfulfilled feeling. It wasn’t an adult movie but to scary at times for children. I was wowed by the graphics but just underwhelmed over all. The movie was another one of those no name movies of this summer like District 9 that just kinda popped up out of nowhere but this was nowhere near asenveloping as district 9. This could be due to the fact it was a kids movie or it was only 1 hour 12 minutes long.

At the extent of being labeled a bigget I feel this movie had a very world war II Nazi/Jew-esque feel. The machines that have taken over the world and killed all the humans were created buy a very Nazi influence regime and so they themsleves marched around with the red and black banners and had no heart and exterminated everything. The Stistchpunk or main characters were generally timid and always hiding from the persecution of the machines. Being hunted and unable to fight back for most of the movie. I left kind of having the feeling I had just watched the nightmare of a jewish person who lived in Europe during WWII.

All in all I say its a movie you should definitely see but don’t pay money to see it. If you have an 8-10 year old kid its a cool movie to take them too, its not a movie to go on a first date too haha. Wait for it to come out on dvd and rent it. If you have a Blue Ray possibly even buy it because the animation and color in this movie are amazing. In Blue ray on a 42″ LCD or bigger this movie would be 1000x better, mind blowing even.

Well after seein all the viral advertising and fake website that have been secretly building up this movie for years (Since 07) I had to go see District 9 the other day. Of course I brought along Mrs. SRS. I knew alot of the background on this story. I also had wiki’d it to see if there was more infromation to be found. I warn you do not wiki the moive. On the wiki page they tell you the entire movie scene for scene and even spoil the ending. It helps you understand whats going on but I found that my gf understood fine with out being told what was going to happen.

The movie itself is actually kind of an accident. The makers of the movie were the people who were making the live action Halo movie before it got tanked. The producer Peter Jackson felt bad and saw one of director Neil Blomkamps internet short films called Alive in Joburg and decided that would make an amazing movie and helped get funding.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Now on to the review. I thought the movie was great. 2 hours was a perfect running time. I never felt bored. here was plenty of action, suspense and even some comedy relief to break things up a little. The setting of South Africa made the entire Racism against the Alien or “prawns” kinda more real and understandable seeing as how it was the birthplace of Apartheid. The animation for aliens and such was seemless. You felt like they were standing right there with the actors unlike so recent major block busters with bigger budgets. All in all i think it was definitely worth the $9.50 price tag. If you want to see a cool alien movie with a decent feel good ending and an underlying moral theme this is for you. Even Mrs. SRS enjoyed it.
